AI explainability for critical decisions

See what your
AI is really doing.

Dakma explains the decisions your models make, from classic ML to LLMs, without ever seeing the model or its training data. Reveal the drivers, examine uncertainty, and keep people in the loop where it matters most.

From output to understanding

A prediction is a start.
An explanation is the next step.

Send a model's input and answer to the Dakma API and get back an explainability status, the checks behind it, and a plain-language reading your reviewers can act on.

In plain language

The model issued a negative decision because the traveller's registration email indicates they are not a speaker, which does not meet the criteria for the exception. It gives a stated reason, but that reason is not tied to the case facts visible in the input.

MODEL ANSWER USED

No, the exception should not be granted because the traveller's registration email indicates they are not a speaker, which does not meet the criteria for the exception.

WHAT TO KEEP IN MIND

Case details appear in the input but are not cited in the output.

For open-weight models you build and run

Building on an open-weight model? The SDK runs next to your model in your own environment. It works on its own, with no connection to the Dakma API.

  1. 01Install it with pip install dakma-sdk
  2. 02Add it to the model you build, fine-tune or serve
  3. 03Get explanations inside your own pipeline. Nothing leaves your environment.

Governance, as an add-on

Trust isn't a label.
It's a practice.

Explanations are the core of Dakma. For teams that need a paper trail, the optional governance add-on keeps the evidence and human judgment together.

Traceable contextConnect an explanation to the exact input and answer it came from.
Reviewable reasoningKeep evidence and human judgment in the same conversation.
Visible limitationsMake uncertainty, assumptions and blind spots explicit.
Visibility supports governance.
It does not replace it.

Explanations alone do not establish fairness, safety or regulatory compliance. They belong alongside validation, domain expertise, organizational policies and responsible human oversight.

A few useful answers

Clarity starts
with questions.

A grounded look at what explainability can and cannot do.

Have a different question? Ask us in a demo →
Does Dakma need access to our model or training data?

No. The Dakma API works only from the input and the model's answer, and it doesn't need to know which model you use. The SDK runs in your own environment and isn't connected to the API. Either way, your model weights, code and training data stay with you.

Which models does it work with?

The Dakma API works with any model, including ChatGPT, Claude, vendor systems and models you can't see inside, because it never needs to know which model produced the answer. If you build on an open-weight model, you can use the free SDK in your own environment instead.

What is free and what is paid?

dakma-sdk is free on PyPI for open-weight models you run yourself. The Dakma API, which works with any model, is the paid product. The two are separate. Governance features are an optional add-on.

What does explainable AI actually explain?

It helps people examine how a model's inputs relate to its outputs. Different methods reveal different views of that behavior; no single explanation tells the whole story.

Is an explanation the same as a guarantee of fairness?

No. Explainability can support investigation, but fairness, safety and compliance need their own evaluations, domain context and human oversight.

Who are the explanations for?

Model builders, domain experts, risk teams and decision reviewers. The goal is to preserve the technical evidence while making its meaning easier to discuss.
